The forestry industry in Surinam is still insufficient used by the government. At this moment there is only 150,000 m3 of timber produced, but the potential is more then 75 million m3.

The best and preferred is for the wood processing to take place in Surinam, also labor in Surinam is still affordable. But there are also hectares available to enable the export of round timber. Which will be very interesting for further processing in China, India and some surrounding countries.

• In Surinam there is up to 5 million hectares of land available, 1.5 million of which have been issued already.

• This whole procedure after submission of the business plan takes maximum 6 months
• The infrastructure needs to be self-implemented, if necessary.
